The things people ask before their first delivery — answered the way the platform actually works.
Nothing is charged — you only ever pay when you accept a bid. An open job stays visible to drivers for up to 14 days, and we notify drivers whose posted routes pass near your pickup and drop-off, so bids often arrive as drivers plan their trips rather than the moment you post.
While you wait, you can also go to the drivers directly: browse posted routes heading your way and request a quote from a specific driver. And if your pickup date passes or the job expires, reposting takes one tap — nothing about an unbid job costs you anything.
Your payment isn't handed to the driver on delivery — it's held by the platform until you confirm. Every delivery requires the driver's photo proof before it can even be marked delivered, and drivers photograph the condition of goods at pickup, so there's a timestamped record from both ends of the journey.
If something arrives damaged, don't confirm: photograph the damage before moving or unpacking further, then raise a dispute from the job within 48 hours (or press "Verifying" to pause the clock while you inspect). Funds stay frozen while we review, and the outcome can be a full refund, a full driver payout, or a fair split. Full detail in our Dispute Resolution Policy.
KymaFlow currently operates across New Zealand and is expanding into Australia. Coverage continues to grow as new regions are added.
Coverage comes from our driver network rather than fixed depots: drivers post the routes they're already driving, and jobs are matched to any route passing within about 50 km of your pickup and drop-off. In New Zealand that spans both islands — inter-island deliveries across Cook Strait are supported, with ferry-crossing jobs badged so drivers price the sailing in from the start.
Earnings are credited to the driver's platform wallet as soon as a delivery is confirmed complete. Funds then clear a 5-day holding period — the window senders have to inspect goods and raise any issue — after which they can be withdrawn to a linked bank account. Withdrawals are processed promptly and arrive on your bank's usual transfer timing.
If a dispute is raised on a job, only that job's funds are frozen while it's resolved — the rest of a driver's cleared balance stays withdrawable. See Terms §7 for the exact parameters.
You're protected at every stage. If a driver declines after you've paid, your payment hold is released immediately and you're notified straight away: if other bids are waiting, you pick your next driver and authorise at their price; if none are, the job automatically reopens for new bids — no re-posting, no fees, no money lost.
The same applies if a driver simply doesn't respond: unconfirmed jobs cascade to the next best bidder or return to open bidding on their own. Cancelling drivers take a reliability penalty that affects how much work they can accept, so it stays rare.
